Our prescribers
Our prescribers are experienced UK clinicians, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and qualified as independent prescribers. They have worked in community pharmacy, general practice, hospitals and online healthcare. That breadth of experience helps them make sound, careful decisions for people with a wide range of health needs.
Every prescriber works to our clinical policies and is supported by our Clinical Lead. We review prescribing regularly through clinical audit, and our prescribers keep their knowledge up to date through ongoing training, as their professional registration requires.
The prescriber responsible for your treatment is always named on your prescription and in your patient record. You can check their registration on the GPhC online register.
How prescribing decisions are made
- You will have an appropriate consultation with a prescriber before any prescription-only medicine is supplied. For higher-risk medicines this includes verifying your identity and the information you give us.
- The prescriber decides independently whether treatment is right for you, and will only prescribe where it is clinically safe and appropriate. They may ask for more information, or recommend you see your GP or another service instead.
- With your consent, we can share information about your treatment with your GP.
- Your treatment is reviewed and monitored for as long as you receive it.
Clinical leadership
Our service is led by Haroon Amanji, Director and Clinical Lead, a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber registered with the GPhC (2070534). Haroon is responsible for the safe, effective and compliant delivery of our clinical services, including prescribing standards, clinical audit and pathway design.
How your prescription is dispensed
- Prescription-only medicines are supplied only against a valid prescription from an appropriately qualified prescriber.
- Each prescription is clinically checked before it is dispensed.
- Medicines are prepared, labelled and accuracy-checked by trained pharmacy staff.
Where medicines come from
Medicines are sourced only from manufacturers and wholesalers authorised by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This helps make sure the medicine you receive is genuine, of consistent quality and has been handled properly.
Delivery
Medicines are delivered to your home by established national carriers, such as Royal Mail and DPD.
- Parcels are sent in plain, unbranded outer packaging, so the contents are private.
- Medicines that need to be kept cold are sent with temperature-controlled (cold-chain) packaging.
- We use a delivery method suited to each medicine.
- We deliver to UK addresses only.
Your delivery details are shared with the carrier only as far as needed to get your parcel to you safely.
Who this service is for
Pharmacy services are for adults aged 18 and over in the United Kingdom. We do not send medicines outside the UK.
